Pain of Salvation é uma banda de metal progressivo originária da Suécia. Mentor e principal compositor da banda, Daniel Gildenlöw é considerado por muitos um gênio musical, tendo sido convidado a tocar com Transatlantic e recentemente se juntado aos The Flower Kings.

Em 2000 a banda tem seu trabalho reconhecido, apresentando-se como atração principal do ProgPower USA. Em 2002, uma nova conquista: a banda é convidada a sair em turnê com o Dream Theater.

Hoje, Pain of Salvation é considerada como referência quando se fala em Prog. Metal, considerada uma das melhores do mundo ao lado de bandas como Dream Theater e Symphony X. Atualmente estão acabando seu novo DVD. Obrigatório aos amantes de Prog. Metal.
